On the 3rd of June, 2025, a team of Senior Military Officers from the 243 Recce Battalion (Ibereko Barracks) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Mrs. Funke Adepoju, at the ASCON headquarters in Topo, Badagry, Lagos State. The delegation was led by Lt. Col, A. A. Ikoro (Acting Commanding Officer) who was accompanied by other officers.
The visit was aimed at formally congratulating the new DG on her appointment and reinforcing the existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Military and ASCON. During the visit, the Officers' delegation expressed their commitment to continuous collaboration with ASCON, especially in the areas of capacity building, administrative training, and leadership development for their personnel. They also acknowledged the pivotal role ASCON plays in enhancing public service delivery in Nigeria.
In her response, the new DG expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed ASCON’s readiness to deepen its partnership with the Military. She commended the officers for their professionalism and dedication to national service. The visit featured a brief interaction session, exchange of goodwill messages, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
This visit underscores the importance of inter-agency collaboration and the strategic relationship between the military and national training institutions like ASCON.
