Biography

F. O. Nyemutu ROBERTS, is a Professor of Political Economy with B. Sc., Political/Administrative Studies (University of Port Harcourt, 1984), M. Sc., Political Science
(Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1991), Ph. D, West African Studies (University of Birmingham, 1995). His main research/consultancy interest is Political Economy, Governance and Administration of Development, with sub-interests in Political Economy, Development and Administration; Political Development, Governance and Security; Oil and Gas Governance, Environment and Development; Faith, Politics and Development; and Disaster Risk Governance, Humanitarian Response and
Development.

Professor Roberts’ research/consultancy assignments include: Federal Government of Nigeria/World Bank Study on Fiscal Decentralization in Nigeria (1999/00); Socio-Economics: Environmental Impact Assessment for the NSP/Rivers State Government Refinery Project, (2003/04); Transnational Networks and New Agents of Religion in West Africa, French Institute for Research in Africa (2004/05); Economic/Corporate Governance, Nigeria’s Self-Assessment, African Peer Review
Mechanism (2006/2008); Member, Political Systems Group, National Technical Working Group on Nigeria’s Vision 20:2020 (2009); State Peer Review Self-Assessment, Niger State, Nigeria (2012- 2013); UNDP Election Contextual Analysis for the 2015 Nigeria General Elections (2014/15); and Development of ECOWAS Humanitarian Policy/Plan of Action and ECOWAS Emergency Response Team Mechanism (2010-2019).
